Calvin and Dan wanted to run their Traxxas RC cars in the winter conditions. We looked at buying special tires, skis, and some other things, but we ended up building our own tire chains. The tire chains work really good in the snow, and much better than Calvin and Dan thought they would.
Here are some pictures of Calvin building tire chains. These are made from light weight “jack chain”. Sixteen links of chain to go around the tire, and six links of chain to go across the tire. There are a total of eight “cross” chains per tire.
