Indoor Skydiving

We went indoor skydiving today at our nearest iFly.  This was a new experience for Trevor, Calvin, and Jen.  Dan had done this once before as a work team building event.

If you don’t know what this is, you basically go inside a vertical wind tunnel and “skydive” by  having the speed controlled wind blow upwards through the steel grate floor.  You wear a flight suit, helmet, and special goggles that press on your checks so the air doesn’t get in your eyes.  An instructor is in the wind tunnel with you giving you hand signals to move your hands, feet, and legs to be able to fly.  Since we are all beginner flyers, the instructor just works on getting us stable in the air.  It’s a lot of fun.  Trevor was a little wobbly and only went one time, but Calvin, Jen, and Dan flew twice.

Here are pictures of each of us (taken by the wind tunnel controller) and videos of all our flights.
