Today was the annual Knickerbocker Ice Festival on the other side of the lake. Jen and Dan snowshoed across the frozen lake to the Icehenge. The lake has about 12 inches of ice on it right now, but today was very warm at 50 degrees. We walked across the lake and enjoyed the beautiful sky as the sun was going down.

We took out our pier today. The weather was an unexpected 70+ degrees, and windy. Calvin and Dan did the job in under 2 hours. It’s sad to see it come out of the water, but it had to be removed before Nov 1 (according to township rules).

The weather was really nice for the middle of September, so Jen and Dan took the sailboat out. Lots of wind to keep us going, and the water wasn’t too cold when we got splashed.

The local sporting goods store had a really good sale on kayaks yesterday, so we decided to buy a pair. For never owning kayaks before, these are basic models but really easy to paddle. They go nice and straight and zip through the water.

Today was a nice fall day between Halloween and Thanksgiving, which means it’s time to put up the Christmas lights on the outside of the house. This is always an exciting event because it involves going on the roof..!
