We took out our pier today. The weather was an unexpected 70+ degrees, and windy. Calvin and Dan did the job in under 2 hours. It’s sad to see it come out of the water, but it had to be removed before Nov 1 (according to township rules).

Homecoming for Trevor’s high school was this week. Friday afternoon, the band was in a small parade down the local Main Street. Calvin and Dan did some fishing after a soccer game. Dan was able to catch a few nice fish, but all Calvin got was a little guy. He snagged the fish somehow with his hook, because the fish’s mouth was too small to bite the hook.

The local sporting goods store had a really good sale on kayaks yesterday, so we decided to buy a pair. For never owning kayaks before, these are basic models but really easy to paddle. They go nice and straight and zip through the water.
